Introduction to our Family Law loan
We work together with you and your solicitor to design a Family Law loan (“Loan”) tailored to your needs, which only charges you for the amount you use.
We reduce the administration by paying loan advances directly to your solicitor, and our online tool keeps you in control of the process throughout, with no hidden costs.
• Loans from £10,000
• No administration, extension or early redemption fees
• Maintenance loans to support you in everyday life
How it works
1
Find an Ampla Partner Solicitor
We are partnered with a number of solicitors, so you can choose to use one of them. Alternatively we are happy to get in contact with your existing Solicitor if they aren’t yet a partner and invite them onboard.
2
Make a loan application
Our simple online form takes minutes to fill in, and will be done by your Solicitor on your behalf.
3
Application Review
Our lending expertise lets us review your application with a loan tailored to you.
4
Independent legal advice
When it comes to your finances, we want you to make a fully informed decision. We ensure that you get independent legal advice so you are confident that we are the best option.
5
Manage your loan
If your Loan is approved, your solicitor can request to draw down the money in stages, according to what your case requires. The funds will not be released until you approve them via the online platform.
6
Settlement
Your Loan is normally repaid from your final divorce or dissolution settlement, so you can make a fresh start.
Risk Warnings – Important Information
The loan amount, including interest and any charges, will be repaid by your solicitor from your settlement proceeds. This will reduce the amount you receive from the proceedings.
The loan is repaid before any payment is made to you, which may delay or reduce the funds you ultimately receive.
If your settlement proceeds are not sufficient to repay the loan in full, you will be responsible for paying any shortfall.
If your proceedings do not continue or do not result in a settlement, you remain fully liable to repay the loan to Ampla Finance.
If you breach the terms of your loan agreement, or if the proceedings do not conclude within 24 months, the loan may become repayable before any settlement is received.
Settlement outcomes and timelines are not guaranteed, and changes in your case may affect the amount you receive and your ability to repay.
How Much Does It Cost?
Representative Example:
If a loan of £25,000 was taken on day one and then repaid after 12 months, the total amount to repay would be £30,175.
The total charge for credit is £5,175, which includes £4,875 of interest payable and £300 for the cost of Independent Legal Advice, based on an annual interest rate of 19.5% and representative of APR 20.8%.
The interest rate offered will depend on individual circumstances and may differ from the example above. Terms and conditions apply. All loans are subject to status and eligibility criteria.
